Payroll Supervisor

Mar Borg Industries seeks a Payroll Supervisor to oversee accurate, timely payroll for a diverse workforce in Santa Barbara. This role manages end-to-end payroll processing, audits, and reconciliations while ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws. You will collaborate with HR and Finance, optimize payroll systems, and support audits. The ideal candidate brings strong payroll expertise, attention to detail, and leadership skills to support our safety-focused, community-oriented, and environmentally responsible culture.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Review and approve payroll changes including new hires, terminations, rate changes, and deductions
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations
• Reconcile payroll reports, benefits deductions, and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Coordinate with HR and Finance on timekeeping, benefits, and general ledger reporting
• Prepare periodic payroll reports and support audits as needed
• Support implementation and optimization of payroll systems and processes
• Train and guide staff on payroll procedures, policies, and system use
