Client Relationship Management, Business Development
You've been in the room with a family when the right answer was no. Delivering it meant losing a commission, a target, or a manager's nod. In this role, that answer is the work.
Alpha is a private K–12 school network. Students complete academics in roughly two hours per day and dedicate the remainder to building practical skills—and the test results confirm the model works. This is an on-site position at a single campus, in person every day, across one of 12 U.S. markets:
Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, La Jolla, or Malibu, CA;
Austin, TX;
Atlanta, GA;
Boca Raton, FL;
Boston, MA;
Chicago, IL;
Greenwich, CT;
Nashville, TN; or Park City, UT. Select your preferred market when you apply.
Parents invest heavily, research thoroughly, and within the first ten minutes ask pointed questions about rigor and expectations. The model succeeds only when families genuinely seek what it offers. In a small cohort, a single family who enrolled expecting something different alters the environment for everyone.
You will manage one campus's admissions process from start to finish: initial inquiry, fit evaluation, campus visit, shadow day, decision dialogue. You are the sole point of contact a family engages with from inquiry through the first day of school. A typical week includes: responding to every inquiry within four hours, guiding a skeptical father through the afternoon program block, facilitating a shadow day, documenting everything in Hub Spot, and calling a family to explain their child would thrive better elsewhere.
You will juggle 20 or more active families concurrently at varying stages. You make the fit determination, and you communicate the outcome—in person, in your own voice.
The network is expanding, and the operational playbook evolves alongside it. Those who validate a market author the FAQs, define the fit criteria, and establish the standards inherited by subsequent campuses—and they become the trusted name affluent families circulate within their city.
This is an on-site role at one campus, in person daily. Professionals who excel in this role typically include: admissions and enrollment leaders from selective institutions; high-value consumer closers serving families—such as luxury real estate agents, private client advisors, or premium practice proprietors; and hospitality or private service operators experienced in delivering white-glove experiences to discerning clients.
What You Will Be Doing- Managing the enrollment experience for every prospective family from initial inquiry through onboarding, conducting a genuine needs assessment before any presentation.
- Juggling 20 or more active families simultaneously, responding to every inquiry promptly and reviewing applications each day.
- Facilitating campus tours, open houses, information sessions, and shadow days that clearly communicate who this model serves—and who it does not.
- Making the admission or decline recommendation and personally delivering the decision to the family.
- Maintaining Hub Spot and the student information system (SIS) after every touchpoint, leveraging AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude for preparation and summaries, and providing weekly pipeline updates to leadership.
- Pursuing a seat-fill quota. A family who enrolls and departs is a worse result than one you declined upfront.
- Having your fit assessment overridden to preserve a relationship or meet a yield goal.
- Following scripts, executing call campaigns, or deploying discount-based closings.
- Passing families through a series of coordinators, or awaiting committee approval for routine decisions.
- Conducting amenity-focused tours that sidestep difficult questions.
