Buildingand Facilities Construction Coordinator Position
Under general direction, the Building and Facilities Construction Coordinator oversees construction, rehabilitation, renovation, and maintenance projects of considerable scope for Housing Authority‑owned properties.
Key Responsibilities- Oversees and coordinates construction, rehabilitation, renovation, maintenance, vacancy turnover, and capital improvement projects for Housing Authority‑owned properties.
- Plans, schedules, and monitors project activities to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, on time, and in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and project specifications.
- Coordinates and provides technical guidance to contractors, consultants, vendors and staff throughout all phases of project delivery, including inspections, troubleshooting, and resolving project issues.
- Assists with project planning and administration, including preparing cost estimates, developing budgets, procuring materials and equipment, securing permits, and supporting bid and contract processes.
- Reviews project plans, specifications, schedules, work orders, and change requests to monitor progress, quality of work, and overall project performance.
- Evaluates building systems and property conditions to identify maintenance, repair, and renovation needs, including structural, plumbing, electrical, and interior improvements.
- Supports departmental goals and initiatives through collaboration with residents, contractors, architects, agencies, and internal departments to help maintain safe, functional, and quality affordable housing communities.
- Responds to resident and public inquiries, maintains project records and reports, and promotes positive working relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum five years progressively responsible experience coordinating construction projects, including at least two years in a lead or supervisory role; general contractor license preferred.
- Strong knowledge of skilled trades work, including materials, methods, and techniques used in rehabilitation, repair, and construction of residential facilities; ability to perform complex maintenance and repair work.
- Familiarity with operations, services, and activities of a facilities‑maintenance program.
- Basic architectural and engineering principles, including the ability to interpret plans, building codes, safety regulations and government regulations.
- Knowledge of public‑agency procurement rules, practices, and procedures and contract administration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective team leadership, project management and computer skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent rapport with colleagues, clients, landlords and agency contacts.
- Bilingual Spanish‑speaking ability desired.
- Physical ability to bend, kneel, reach, lift, and carry up to 60 lbs.
- Proof of legal right to drive in CA and a good DMV driving record for insurability.
Competitive five‑step salary range $46.52–$56.54 per hour, with bilingual premium pay (if applicable). Eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefit package:

Full‑time 9/80 schedule, offices closed alternate Fridays; duties performed in office, residential and construction field environments.
