Alpha School leverages AI-driven 1:1 instruction to help students achieve academic mastery in roughly two hours per day. The remaining time is dedicated to cultivating life skills, pursuing passion projects, and fostering meaningful development. At our most rigorous campuses, students require more than oversight. They need a credible mentor capable of assessing the environment, establishing expectations, and guiding them through resistance, distraction, and uncertainty.

This is not a conventional teaching position. You will not deliver lectures, assign grades, or develop coursework. Your role is to coach. You will facilitate structured life-skills workshops. You will interpret data to identify barriers affecting student performance, then intervene with both rigor and empathy until they execute.

• Facilitate 1:1 and small-group coaching that transforms student objectives into reliable execution and quantifiable outcomes
• Leverage analytics and individual goals to identify obstacles and design personalized, high-expectation motivation strategies
• Lead structured life-skills workshops grounded in authentic storytelling, guided reflection, and practical application, followed by mastery assessment
• Conduct daily opening sessions that establish culture, reinforce standards, and prepare students mentally before work begins
• Build trusted mentoring relationships with students and families by maintaining high standards, demonstrating consistency, and exercising sound judgment

• Deliver classroom instruction, lectures, or academic tutoring in a traditional format
• Develop curricula, write lesson plans, or evaluate academic assignments
• Supervise staff, oversee campus operations, or assume administrative management responsibilities
• Compromise standards to secure immediate compliance or superficial gains

Ensure students at Alpha's most demanding campuses remain deeply engaged and demonstrate continuous growth and life‑skill proficiency through elite, high-accountability coaching.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any discipline
• At least one demonstrable elite marker (competitive athletics, academic distinction, professional accomplishment, or high-level coaching experience)
• Proven experience in client-facing mentoring, coaching, or leadership roles that produced measurable improvements in others' performance
• Confidence working in high-accountability settings characterized by explicit standards and consistent follow-through
• Capability to facilitate compelling, rigorous group sessions and provide individual coaching with mature judgment
• Commitment to full-time, in-person work at an Alpha campus in San Francisco, CA;
  Santa Barbara, CA; or New York City, NY
• Authorization to work legally in the United States

• Track record using data and analytics to inform coaching strategies and ensure accountability
• Professional background in competitive firms, high-growth startups, or elite athletic organizations with demanding performance cultures
