Brief Summary ofJob Duties
The Coordinator for Campus Organizations and Orientation Operations supports two departments:
Student Engagement and Leadership and Orientation Programs and Parent Services. This position supports the registration and advising process for over 550 Registered Campus Organizations (RCOs), guiding student leaders on registration, event planning, and risk management. It also supports major student involvement events such as the Winter Involvement Fair and administers the After Dark funding program to promote safe, inclusive social programming.
The Coordinator oversees the Orientation Reservation System for more than 9,000 participants each summer, serving as the primary contact for vendors, IT, and campus partners. They coordinate online orientation content, supervise student staff, and assist with campus event scheduling for general assignment spaces.
- High School Diploma
- Experience advising or direct involvement in student leadership organizations
- Administrative experience learning and managing various computer systems
- Basic knowledge of advising and counseling techniques
- Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs
- Knowledge of University processes and procedures
- Understanding of University rules and regulations
- Skills in service orientation, active listening, critical thinking
- Abilities in problem identification, reasoning
- Ability to multi-task, verbal communication, written communication and organization skills.
