Elementary School Counselor
Under the general supervision of the Site Administrator (or designee), the Elementary School Counselor is responsible for providing a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program aligned with the California Education Code and National Standards for School Counseling Programs. The Counselor addresses the academic, socio-emotional, and character development needs of all students through individual counseling, small group intervention, and classroom guidance lessons.
Equivalent to the completion of an earned Master of Arts or higher degree in school counseling, counseling psychology, guidance, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Possession of a valid California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential authorizing service as a School Counselor (Required per California Education Code § 49600). Two (2) years of successful public elementary school counseling experience is preferred.
