Career Skills Institute Professional Development - Part-Time Instructor Pool - Noncredit

Santa Barbara City College - Career Skills Institute is seeking PT faculty for professional development courses at the School of Extended Learning.

The starting noncredit adjunct rate is $73.59 per hour for Lecture and $55.20 per hour for Lab. If you have an advanced degree, the rate is $76.73 per hour for Lecture and $57.54 per hour for Lab.

Provide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment which emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues. Primary duties of part-time faculty members are related to curriculum and teaching.

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught
• Associate degree and six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught
• Possession of a full-time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter
• For courses in an occupation for which the district offers or has offered apprenticeship instruction, the minimum qualifications for noncredit apprenticeship instructors in that occupation, as specified in title 5 section 53413.

• Previous teaching experience to adults who are entering, re-entering, upskilling, or transforming within the workplace.
• Sensitivity to and respect of the diverse and wide range of students in class.
• Ability to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion in class.
