Provide quality instruction in Film and TV Production, creating and maintaining an environment that emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages the free discussion of ideas, interests, and issues. Part‑time faculty members will lecture and conduct lab classes as determined by the department, and will be available to students outside of class.

The starting credit part‑time rates from Salary Table 11 are $102.90 per hour (Lecture) and $82.33 per hour (Lab). If you have a doctorate, the rates are $107.87 per hour (Lecture) and $86.30 per hour (Lab).

• Master’s degree in film, drama/theater arts, or mass communication.
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the above combined with a Master’s degree in media studies, English, or communication (or equivalent).
• Proficiency in teaching lecture and lab classes in Film and TV Production, as approved by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors.
• Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.
• Evidence that the title of your degree as stated on your transcripts matches or is equivalent to one of the degree titles listed; if not, submit an equivalency review and supporting documents, including an SBCC Equivalency Crosswalk and a narrative synopsis of your educational background.
• For candidates making an application on the basis of equivalency, submit an Application for Equivalency along with all other required materials.
