Basic Functions

Essential Functions of Position

Provide quality instructions, create and maintain an environment which emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages freediscussion of ideas, interests and issues. Primary duties ofPart-time faculty members are related to curriculum and teaching;the assignment is divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Part-time instructional faculty are required to be available to students outside of class.

Part-Time Faculty Salary

The starting credit part-time faculty rate from salary table 11 is $102.90 per hour-Lecture and $82.33 per hour-Lab. If you have adoctorate, the rate is $107.87 per hour-Lecture and $86.30 perhour-Lab.



Education and Experience


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must possess the minimum qualifications for the discipline as approved by the California Community Colleges Boardof Governors and defined in the

Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges handbook.

Master's in child development, early childhood education, humandevelopment, home economics/ family and consumer studies with aspecialization in child development/early childhood education or educational psychology with a specialization in child development/early childhood education
OR
Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's insocial work, educational supervision, elementary education, specialeducation, psychology, bilingual/bicultural education, lifemanagement/home economics, family life studies or family and consumer studies
OR

Possess a combination of education and experience that is at leastthe equivalent to all of the above.
