Provide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment that emphasizes teaching and learning, and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests, and issues. Primary duties are related to curriculum and teaching; the assignment is divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Part‑time instructional faculty are required to be available to students outside of class.
Preferred/Deseired Qualifications- Previous teaching experience to adults entering, re‑entering, upskilling, or transforming within the workplace.
- Sensitivity to and respect for the diverse and wide range of students in class.
- Ability to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion in class.
Candidates must possess the minimum qualifications for the discipline as approved by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors and defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators handbook.
- Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
- Or a combination of education and experience that is at least equivalent to all of the above. Candidates applying based on equivalency must submit an Application for Equivalency.
- Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.
Applicants with degrees that do not exactly match the titles listed in the minimum qualifications must request an equivalency review and submit supporting documents at the time of application.
