Responsibilities
Provide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment that emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages discussion of ideas, interests, and issues. Primarily responsible for curriculum and teaching, with duties divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Adjunct instructional faculty are required to be available to students outside of class.
Hourly rates: $102.90 per hour for lecture and $82.33 per hour for lab. If holding a doctorate, $107.87 per hour for lecture and $86.30 per hour for lab.
Qualifications- Candidates must possess the minimum qualifications for the discipline as approved by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors and defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges handbook.
- Any bachelor’s degree AND two years of experience.
- Any associate degree AND six years of experience.
- A combination of education and other accomplishments that are equivalent to the above. If claiming equivalency, attach a separate statement presenting the basis for this claim and submit supporting evidence, e.g., transcripts, publications, other products.
- Possession of a lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential in Health and Physical Care Services and Related Technologies AND evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.
- For degrees not matching the listed titles, an equivalency review and supporting documents (completed SBCC Equivalency Crosswalk and a narrative synopsis of educational background) must be submitted at the time of application.
Applicants should demonstrate knowledge and abilities relevant to Medical Imaging Sciences, including current technical competency, ability to develop curriculum, assess student performance, and adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning environments.
