Position description

The Department of Anthropology at UCSB invites applications for our lecturer pool, focusing on Archaeology, Integrative Anthropological Science, and Sociocultural Anthropology. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department. We aim to enrich our academic community with broad perspectives and innovative teaching. This opportunity is ideal for educators enthusiastic about employing modern pedagogies to meet the varied needs of a wide range of academic backgrounds, thereby enhancing learning experiences and academic excellence.

The posting will remain open until March 31, 2027, to accommodate our department needs. The pool will close on March 31, 2027; if you would like to continue to be considered after that time, and the pooled position is advertised again, you will need to submit a new application.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

  • Minimum of a Master's Degree in Anthropology or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated teaching experience.

Preferred qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Anthropology or related field
