Position descriptionThe Department of Music at UC Santa Barbara seeks to appoint a part-time, non-tenure track lecturer position at the University of California Santa Barbara to teach Mariachi, leading the ensemble course and holding at least one performance each academic quarter.
Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application)- A minimum of 1 year of experience teaching Mariachi.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Subject matter expertise in Mariachi performance, demonstrated through training or professional experience.
- Knowledge of the history and cultural significance of Mariachi music.
- Experience teaching in a higher education or post-secondary institution
