Substitute Teacher/Educator
Daily Sub Rate = $190
Half Day Sub Rate = $95
Long Term Sub Rate = $290/day

Site Principal/Designee
Salary Schedule Range: $190 daily depending on length of assignment.
Benefits:
As of July 1, 2015, may be eligible for sick leave.

Purpose of Position:
To provide learning experiences for students and meet the duties of educators as outlined in laws and board policies in the absence of the assigned teacher/educator.
Essential Functions:
• To report on time to the assigned position.
• To carry out the lesson plan of the teacher/educator.
• To engage and support students in standards-based instruction and learning.
• To create and maintain effective learning environments for all students.
• To promote positive interpersonal relationships among peers, staff, students, parents/guardians, and the public.
• To maintain student records as part of evaluating student academic and social growth.
Non-essential Functions:
• To provide supervision of para-educators, as appropriate.
• To prepare reports as required by the administration (e.g., attendance; substitute teacher end-of-day reports)
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
• Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations.
• Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time.
• Ability to see for purposes of reading laws and codes, rules and policies, and other printed and electronic matter and observing students.
• Ability to hear and understand speech at normal speech levels.
• Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to carry up to 25 pounds.
• Moderate to high stress levels.
• Work is predominantly in a school environment.
• Climate is normal; occasional adverse weather conditions.
• Contact with students, teachers, and school staff.
Abilities and Knowledge:
• To establish rapport and work constructively with staff, students, parents, and community members.
Qualifications/
Experience:
• Successfully pass District required Human Resources requirements.
Occupational Certificates/Licenses:
• TK - 12 assignments require California Certificated Credential, or Substitute Teacher Permit. Child Development Permit is permitted for Early Childhood assignments.
