Position description

The Department of Feminist Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach feminist studies courses in the Feminist Studies Department for upcoming openings. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the Department's needs. Positions may range from 22% to 100% time.

The posting will remain open until March 31, 2027 to accommodate department needs. The pool will close on March 31, 2027. When this recruitment closes, if you would like to continue to be considered after that time -- and the pooled position is advertised again -- you will need to submit a new application to the new recruitment.

All courses are taught in-person on campus. Therefore, applicants must be able to teach in-person, with no additional reimbursement. Lecturer appointments will range from one-quarter- to one-year-time, with the possibility of reappointment, dependent upon performance and departmental needs. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to University of California (UC) policy and any appropriate collective bargaining agreement.

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Applicants must hold a Master's degree in feminist/women's/gender/sexuality/ethnic studies or a related interdisciplinary field and have a minimum of 1 year of teaching experience.

Preferred qualifications

Ph.D. in Feminist Studies/Women's/Gender/Sexuality/Ethnic Studies. Strong teaching background desired.
