About the Role

We are looking for a full-time Test Engineer to join Oxford Instruments Asylum Research team in Santa Barbara to support the testing of our Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) product lines.

Responsibilities

  • Complete standardized tests and generate test reports to ensure optimal system performance
  • Troubleshoot systems and perform repairs as required during testing
  • Generate and maintain technical documentation for all test and troubleshooting procedures
  • Interface with technical staff in other departments for manufacturing and product development support
  • Provide excellent customer support via email, phone and in person as needed
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, physics or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least one year of hands-on engineering experience
  • The ability to interpret schematics, and an aptitude for mechanical/electronic/optical design.
  • Strong attention to detail along with excellent manual dexterity and an affinity to working with precision parts.
  • A self-starter attitude and commitment to producing high quality work against sometimes demanding deadlines.
  • The ability to excel and communicate in a customer-focused team environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One+ year(s) of SPM/AFM experience.

Pay range and compensation package

In accordance with California law, the expected salary for this full-time, benefited position is between $77,000 - $81,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
