Job Description

IRCameras is currently recruiting for the position of Apps/System Engineer. This role requires a balance between broad engineering-related tasks, and customer‑engagement, all focused on growing the sales of the IRCameras product portfolio. The Apps/System Engineer serves as the initial contact point for queries from new sales prospects, the reliable technical resource for existing customers, and the key intermediary between engineering, product management, and our customers.

Activities addressing customer needs, include system integration, verification and validation.

IRCameras is a full service provider of high performance, customizable infrared imaging systems and Integrated Dewar Cooler Assemblies (IDCAs). Whether the end system will be used for a scientific, industrial, space, or defense application, IRCameras is positioned to meet the most demanding thermal imaging needs. We offer a wide selection of standard and custom Short Wave Infrared (SWIR), Mid Wave Infrared (MWIR) and Long Wave Infrared (LWIR) cameras, as well as an extensive line of custom packaged IDCAs.

We focus on technical excellence, delivered quickly to meet the needs of our customers addressing a range of applications for precision radiometric measurements and observations.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to customer inquiries for "standard" cameras, defining configurations meeting the customer's requirements. Compile "standard" pricing for those defined "standard" camera configurations
  • Support customer engagement on "custom" opportunities, working with the customer, product management, and the overall engineering team to capture requirements, and to create proposals in support of the customer's needs
  • Technical lead for IRC in the areas of product test, including hardware, software and firmware.
  • Technical lead for documenting internal camera and software test procedures, and first line of support when issues arise with the product or systems
  • Perform trouble‑shooting and functional analysis when customers report issues. Work with the overall engineering team to document and resolve camera product issues discovered and demonstrated through our in‑house camera testing
  • Work with the overall engineering and product teams to create and maintain robust product documentation supporting the sales cycle, and field usage of our products by our customers. Documentation includes Camera Product Datasheets, Optical/Mechanical ICD's, Command Set ICD's, CAD models and Manuals/User Guides
  • Serve as voice of the customer, channeling customer feedback to the product management and engineering teams for consideration in future developments
Requirements
  • BS or 5 years of practical experience in technical work environment
  • Must have the skills and desire to handle hands‑on build and test tasks, as well as engineering design and analysis tasks
  • Demonstrated aptitude for working directly with customers remotely and in person, in support of sales
  • Must enjoy working with customers to understand their needs, to educate them on the superior solutions IRCameras provides, and then working with management to capture sales
  • Excellent trouble‑shooting capability and analytical skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is desired
  • Must be able to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time to meet customers, demonstrate products, facilitate in‑field product testing, or attend trade shows and conferences
  • Must be able to work full‑time
