Key Responsibilities:
- Lead system-level architecture and application strategy across solar cells, modules, panels, arrays, and spacecraft power systems.
- Conduct electrical, thermal, and mechanical simulations and trade studies to guide design decisions.
- Define and lead limited-scope prototyping to validate integration concepts and reduce customer adoption risk.
- Serve as the primary technical interface with customers and external partners.
- Translate customer requirements into actionable design, reliability, and qualification targets for internal R&D teams.
- Define customer-focused reliability, qualification, and data strategies.
- Provide advisory guidance on space-grade quality, reliability, and documentation expectations.
- Support team development and system-level decision-making processes.
- Act as Responsible Engineer for Solar Power Module design
, leading module architecture, development, prototyping, and integration into spacecraft power systems with flight or space validation experience
.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in space solar systems, spacecraft power systems, or high-reliability aerospace hardware.
- Strong system-level understanding of spacecraft power architectures and environmental effects.
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions with customers and partners.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
- Eligible to work under U.S. export control regulations.
- Background as a Technical Lead, Principal Engineer, or Systems Engineer.
- Experience with flight hardware, demonstration missions, or qualification campaigns.
- Familiarity with electrical, thermal, or radiation modeling tools.
- Up to ~40% travel to R&D sites, manufacturing partners, and customer locations, depending on project phase.
- Experienced Responsible Engineer for Solar Power Module design with spaceflight or in-orbit validation experience
, including architecture, development, prototyping, and integration into spacecraft power systems. - System-oriented thinker with a proven track record of delivering integrated spacecraft power solutions.
- Comfortable making technically and commercially impactful decisions that balance mission requirements, risk, and manufacturability.
- Able to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across organizations without formal authority.
- Motivated by deploying mission-ready hardware validated in space
, not just achieving lab performance metrics. - Demonstrates strong judgment in translating customer requirements into actionable design, reliability, and qualification targets.
