Your Opportunity

This role will work on smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance and supervision of a senior engineer/designer. You should be able to evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for a project. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations, field work, coordination of tasks, and meeting attendance and recording.

The smaller projects that this role may be assigned to will have relatively few complex features.

In general, this role will assist more senior engineers/designers by performing the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments and may assist in the analysis of proposed projects.

• Perform civil engineering design which may include engineering drawings, hydraulic system calculations, pipe design calculations, engineering reports, design criteria, and prepare applications for regulatory agencies.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables.
• Attend and assist in client, contractor, stakeholder, and regulatory agency meetings to gain a better understanding of client’s goals, project requirements, site assessments, key challenges, coordination.
• Assist in the development of design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
• Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
• Assist with the development of job‑specific discipline specifications.
• Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, respond to requests for information, prepare site observation reports, and perform other contract administration tasks.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials.
• Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating.
