Senior Semiconductor Packaging Engineer | Advanced Photonics & Defense Technology | California
Edison is retained with a well-funded, venture-backed deep tech company that's tackling some of the toughest engineering challenges in advanced photonics and defense technology.
They're building next-generation high-power semiconductor devices that will enable critical applications where performance, reliability and innovation genuinely matter. It's an opportunity to join at an early stage, work alongside a world-class engineering team and have a direct influence on products from concept through production.
This isn't a role maintaining legacy products. You'll own challenging engineering problems and help develop advanced semiconductor packages capable of operating under demanding thermal and mechanical conditions.
What you'll be doing:
- Design and develop advanced semiconductor packages from concept through qualification and production.
- Lead thermal and mechanical package design using FEA and simulation tools.
- Solve complex heat dissipation, stress and reliability challenges.
- Work closely with process, manufacturing and test engineers to optimise package performance and manufacturability.
- Drive package architecture, materials selection, reliability testing and design improvements.
- Play a key role in taking cutting-edge technology from R&D into scalable production.
We re interested in engineers with experience in:
- Thermal/mechanical design and simulation
- Advanced materials, package reliability and failure analysis
- NPI and product development
- Working across design, manufacturing and process engineering teams
Experience with photonics, optoelectronics, laser diodes or compound semiconductors would be highly desirable, but engineers from advanced semiconductor packaging backgrounds looking to apply their expertise in an exciting new domain are also suitable.
