Position: Field Support Specialist (On-Call) New Santa Barbara, California, United States

Reports To: The Field Support Specialist will report to the Client Services Supervisor, Client Services Manager, Human Resources, or equivalent leadership.

Job Overview

The Field Support Specialist is responsible for providing backfill coverage within the assigned region, covering scheduled and unscheduled time off for staff. The role requires flexibility to travel to multiple locations, including same‑day assignments for urgent support needs. This position is critical to maintaining customer satisfaction, business continuity, and meeting service level agreements.

Duties and Responsibilities

Mail Services

  • Provide exceptional, world‑class service to all clients.
  • Process inbound and outbound mail and packages, sorting by recipient/department using manual or electronic chain‑of‑custody procedures.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving of materials, including packaging and sealing shipments.

Reprographics Services

  • Assist with copy/print production and monitor equipment for satisfactory functionality.
  • Provide binding services such as GBC, Velo, Coil, and Wire‑Internal.
  • Operate multifunction devices, replenishing toner and paper.
  • Scan and image documents, performing light copy/print reproduction services.

Office Services

  • Maintain the Office Services Center area in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Service and replenish pantry, conference, kitchen, or meeting areas.
  • Perform general preventative maintenance and repair duties.
  • Oversee office equipment maintenance and safety tests.
  • Organize and clean breakroom and conference rooms.
  • Monitor office supply levels and inventory supplies.

Front of House

  • Provide reception or concierge coverage as needed.
  • Welcome guests, catalog guest information, and orient new clients.
  • Represent SPS Global positively in all interactions (in person, phone, and email).
  • Oversee quality of lobby concierge experience.
  • Maintain courteous and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Coordinate guest access with Building Security and manage access levels.
  • Log visitors and route global calls appropriately.
  • Provide light administrative support as directed.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Use MS Office Suite at an intermediate to expert level.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously with strong organizational skills.
  • Operate MFD (Multifunction Device) equipment proficiently.
  • Understand shipping/receiving procedures and follow instructions.
  • Work independently and complete projects proactively.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred: 6+ months of prior work experience.
  • Ability to work assigned hours as determined by manager.
  • Strong organizational, time‑management, and analytical skills.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency required for job functions.
  • Professional appearance and adherence to company policies.
Physical Demands

The position requires approximately 50% of the time to: grasp, lift, and carry 25 lbs individually (or 50 lbs with assistance), walk/bend/kneel/stand/sit for extended periods, use office machinery with manual dexterity, and utilize vision for close and distance tasks.

Travel
  • Travel is essential; reliable transportation required.
  • Travel may involve visiting multiple SPS sites within the assigned region.
Compensation

Pay Range: $19 – $22 USD
