Application Programmer

Partners with the UCSB based research team to design an app for data collection. Builds an Android-based application to capture, record, and transfer heart rate and audio clips from a smartwatch in a non‑networked (no‑cloud) setting. Designs and constructs a robust and durable in‑situ data transfer system. Conducts quality assurance and debugging processes on the watch app.

Minimum Requirements

Prior experience in app design. Prior experience in QA processes and debugging, data storage, and experience working with mobile environments in particular with smartwatches and tablets.

Key Skills and Experience

Experience in QA processes and debugging.

Create/code a smartwatch application from start to finish (design through debugging) in an Android environment.

Experience in data storage, and if possible, management in resource‑limited environments.

Experience in agile work methods and evidence of past successful partnerships with deliverables.

Experience working with mobile environments in particular with smartwatches and tablets.
