Responsibilities
  • Evaluates user requests to resolve problems and to identify and obtain appropriate resources for resolution of more complex problems: corrects routine problems by making minor repairs to computer equipment and/or entering commands or data into systems; determines and contacts appropriate resources for additional assistance.
  • Instructs computer system users in the safe and proper use of computer equipment and of computer applications; answers questions and assists in resolving problems related to the methods and procedures for utilizing computer applications.
  • Installs, tests, and monitors the operation of computer hardware and software; configures hardware and software.
  • Assists in creating databases and spreadsheets and designing and generating related reports.
  • Assists in the configuration and security of personal computers.
  • Maintains various records documentation, and inventories for department computer systems.
  • Qualifications
  • Completion of training in the general principles of computerized data processing, basic principles of computer programming and the use of computer applications similar to those currently utilized by the Superior Court; OR
  • Equivalent combination of training, education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Knowledge

    Functions and operations of personal computers and PC networks, and of local and wide area networks (LAN's / WAN's); general principles of office automation, record management; variety of operating systems and related software used by Superior Court; general principles of computer systems analysis; practices and programs for endpoint protection.

    Ability

    Analyze and resolve users needs and problems; interpret and apply information from technical manuals; communicate on technical issues with individuals with varying degrees of computer familiarity; instruct others in the use of computerized information systems; establish and maintain working relationships with department staff; and lift approximately 50 pounds.

    Desirable Qualifications

    Two years of experience in the administration, operation and support of desktop personal computers running current Windows desktop operating systems; two years of experience installing, configuring and supporting operating systems and Microsoft Office applications; two years of experience in the configuration, operation and support of Personal Computer configurations; working knowledge of scripting or programming languages.

    There is a one-year probation period. Benefits commence at date of hire. Exception is health insurance that begins one month after hire date. Must pass security background check.
