Job Duties
The Business Analyst manages planning and implementation of record processing for Undergraduate Admissions, including transcripts, international documents, test score data, electronic files, and other materials required to finalize student admission records. Responsibilities include supervising seasonal staff, quality assurance, workflow management, and representing admissions on document imaging solutions for Enrollment Services with multiple third‑party vendors.
Responsibilities – Percentage of Time- 40% Management: Coordinate planning and implementation of processing records; provide strategic direction; manage workflow and staff workload; ensure cross‑training; collaborate with department managers on deadlines and service levels; serve as admissions resource/expert adviser on academic records.
- 25% Management & Technology Implementation: Expert user of systems and software; provide training, support, and direction; maintain data accuracy and confidentiality; ensure FERPA compliance; represent admissions on campus technology implementation committees.
- 10% Data Coordination: Migrate data from external transcripts and feeds into UCSB Campus Point System; manage manual entry and quality control; support encoding of articulation agreements; load bulk electronic transcripts; assist Data Manager and Systems Analyst.
- 10% Production Control: Coordinate application data in online and batch environments; schedule and run programs; log and load batch data; reconcile applicant data; submit programs; maintain online school table system; process cancellations and EAP applicants; maintain process documentation.
- 10% Quality Assurance: Examine data for anomalies; conduct testing and inspection; document audits; investigate complaints and non‑conformance; analyze quality data; recommend corrective actions; verify accuracy of new student profiles and Slate data.
- 5% Other: Maintain knowledge of admissions policies; support Associate Director of Admissions, Data Manager, and Systems Analyst on projects; provide staff support for recruitment events; perform other assigned tasks.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1–3 years relevant work experience.
- 1–3 years experience with uAchieve and Slate.
- Experience with course articulation.
- Mandated reporting requirements of Child Abuse.
- Valid driver’s license required; must comply with local policies and California Employer Pull Notice Program.
- Satisfactory criminal history/background check.
