Arthrex is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The AC Buyer Planner I role bridges the gap between demand and delivery. It owns the daily MRP flow, ensuring production lines never miss a beat. From managing supplier relationships to navigating complex engineering changes, the AC Buyer Planner I is the primary point of contact for keeping Arthrex high‑quality medical products moving, purchasing materials or other goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Reviews MRP outputs daily to ensure all required actions are taken – planned orders, expedites, de‑expedites, cancellations, etc.
- Limits backorders of all assigned parts while communicating backorder information to internal departments.
- Maintains and reviews forecast vs. actual sales for assigned products.
- Attends weekly conference calls with key suppliers.
- Distributes Engineering Change Requests to suppliers and reviews disposition of existing and in‑process inventory.
- Discusses defective goods with inspection or quality control personnel, suppliers and others to determine the required action.
- Responsible for all PO receipts of non‑inventoried goods, invoice approval, MRO and credit card purchases.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 2 years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma and 6 years of relevant experience required.
- Purchasing/Manufacturing/Forecasting/Sourcing/International experience preferred.
- SAP experience preferred.
- BI/BW or similar software experience preferred.
- Knowledge of supply‑chain concepts preferred.
- Microsoft Office/Windows. Excel macros, pivot tables, VLookups preferred.
- Reasoning ability: defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, draws valid conclusions, interprets extensive technical instructions.
- Mathematical skills: comprehends and applies mathematical principles to perform the job.
- Language and communication skills: comprehends and applies language skills, verbally communicates ideas & issues to team members and management, writes & records data and information as required.
- Physical demands: speaks/hears regularly; sits, uses hands/fingers to handle or feel, reaches with hands and arms; occasionally lifts/moves up to 10 pounds.
