Under supervision, lead and participate in maintenance and repairs at the Waterfront. Operate equipment such as trucks, street sweepers, lawn mowers, and hedge trimmers, following safety protocols. Maintain hazardous waste sites, inventories, and custodial supplies. Work over water or from boats, perform building and equipment maintenance, and keep accurate records. Provide excellent customer service and contribute to a positive environment.
This position is flexibly staffed at either Level I or II, based on qualifications. The selection process will determine placement. Refer to the job descriptions for detailed duties.
Work ScheduleThis role follows a 9/80 schedule, Monday through Friday, with every other Friday off. On-call weekend duty and emergency coverage are required on a rotating basis.
Knowledge and Ability- Knowledge of safety practices, mechanical equipment, construction, electrical, plumbing, welding, HVAC, roofing, painting, and grounds work.
- Ability to operate mechanical equipment safely, perform manual labor, follow instructions, communicate effectively, establish good working relationships, work independently, and operate vessels and swim if qualified.
- Level I:
One year of custodial, groundskeeping, or maintenance experience is desirable. - Level II:
Two years of general maintenance experience is desirable. - Valid California driver’s license or ability to obtain one is required.
Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and climbing. Work may be outdoors in adverse weather, over water, and near chemicals and noise.
