Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Machinist will set up and operate CNC Mills / Okuma and Haas Milling machines and conventional machines to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Program CNC machines using CAMWorks software integrated with Solid Works.
- Perform set-up and first article on CNC Mill tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
- Properly and safely load and unload raw material in CNC machinery.
- Use measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
- Perform tool wear offsets.
- Conduct daily cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
- Utilize and abide by ISO requirements and safety procedures.
- Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (mills, grinders, etc.)
- Ability to learn CAMWorks software integrated with Solid Works.
- Ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers) to take accurate measurements
- Understand and have the ability to perform tool wear offsets
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset.
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using CAMWorks with Solid Works for programming CNC machining operations.
Salary Range
$35-$40 an hour
