Job Description:
This Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse role offers a 10-week contract working 12-hour night shifts at a hospital in Santa Barbara, CA. The assignment involves floating to Postpartum and Nursery units, with an expected weekly commitment of 36 hours. Travelers will care for diverse patient populations, including neonates, adolescents, and adults, and will perform duties such as assisting with labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
A solid knowledge of procedures like Magnesium administration, Pitocin management, and Circumcision assistance is essential. This opportunity is open to first-time travelers with at least two years of labor and delivery experience, welcoming those eager to tackle a fast-paced environment with an occasional on-call shift. The unit supports a census of 150-180 births per month and maintains staffing ratios of 1:2.
Scrubs are provided, and certifications required include ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BCLS, and NRP. The schedule is planned in 6-week blocks, ensuring travelers have predictable shifts and on-call duties, with built-in weekend coverage every six weeks. This role provides a chance to expand your skills while exploring California’s beautiful coastline.
