We’re a small, family-run cheese shop located in the heart of Santa Barbara, dedicated to offering a curated selection of high-quality, artisanally made cheeses and specialty foods. As proud members of the Santa Barbara food community, we’re passionate about great food and even better customer service. Our team is tight-knit, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about helping customers discover exceptional products.

We are open five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday.

We are closed on Sundays, Mondays, and all major holidays—because rest and balance matter too.

We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic Cheesemonger / Customer Service Associate to join our team 4–5 days a week. You’ll be the face of our shop, engaging with customers, building strong relationships, and helping them find products they’ll love. This is a hands-on, physically active role with opportunities to grow as you deepen your knowledge of cheese, food, and retail.

• Provide warm, knowledgeable and professional customer service and build lasting relationships
• Learn and share information about our cheeses and artisanal products
• Cut, wrap, and present cheese using proper tools and techniques
• Use a meat slicer and knives safely and skillfully
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail space
• Operate the point-of-sale system, process payments, and handle cash
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing deliveries
• Lift and carry boxes (up to 40 lbs) and stand for extended periods
• The schedule is generally flexible, however Saturdays are required.
• Work efficiently with attention to detail and a sense of urgency
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth and positive work environment

• A genuine passion for food, especially cheese and artisanal products
• Excellent customer service and strong communication skills
• Comfortable using knives and a meat slicer in a safe and professional manner
• Detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively
• Works well under pressure with a sense of urgency
• Previous retail or food service experience is a huge plus
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
• Eager to learn and grow within a small, dynamic business

Quoted wage is inclusive of share in tip pool.
