Registration and Immigration Specialist

University of California, Santa Barbara – Santa Barbara, CA

Under the general supervision of the Customer Services Manager, the Registration and Immigration Specialist provides comprehensive customer support services in the areas of enrollment, fee payments, refunds, transcript issuance, grade recording, and record maintenance.

  • Maintain an audit‑compliant office and up‑to‑date student records.
  • Assure accuracy of PaCE’s academic records in the Destiny platform, including importing grades, generating transcripts, and resolving transcript/grade issues.
  • Provide advising to visiting international students, offering guidance on immigration visa status and coordinating with campus offices to ensure compliance with federal policies.
  • Coordinate I‑20 processing, maintain SEVIS and USCIS workflows, and serve as the primary point of contact for all immigration‑related inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive customer database, generate reports, and support sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain help‑center knowledge‑base articles and documentation related to immigration, visas, and academic policies.

Satisfactory criminal history background check is required.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two or more years of customer support and outreach experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Google Suite, or equivalent tools.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with diverse audiences.
  • Service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to execute multiple tasks with demanding time frames.
Desirable Requirements
  • Knowledge of the Destiny platform.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Government Immigration Policies (I‑20, F‑1, etc.).
  • Awareness of UCSB policies and procedures.
  • Experience with SEVIS and the USCIS online system.
