Software Development Engineer

Overview

Software Development Engineers at Green Hills Software play a critical role in our mission to make computers safe for humanity. Developers have complete engineering responsibility for one or more major components of a Green Hills product, often developing completely novel solutions to make software that never fails and cannot be hacked.

You will personally have a global impact by developing software that millions of people around the world rely on every single day: the majority of cars on the road depend on our software, the heart of airplane flight systems run our operating system, and spacecrafts land on Mars because of our work. You will directly solve complex problems for organizations like JPL, Boeing, GM, Hewlett Packard, Intel, and Nintendo.

Examples of recent projects newer developers accomplished are designing and implementing the world7s first secure smartphone, a fully secure laptop for organizations like the FBI, and a formally provable programming language. Developers will learn the Dawn Methodology as they build and deploy solutions to secure safety-critical systems for power plants, hospital systems, and self-driving cars.

The right candidate for this role has a strong desire to learn since there will be a lot to learn and unlearn. This is the right engineering role for you if you want significant ownership over developing a new product, the ability to make a vast impact on the world, and to grow into the best engineer you can become.

• Develop software that supports one or more major components of a Green Hills product with ownership over design and implementation
• Contribute to securing safety-critical systems for power plants, hospital systems, and self-driving cars
• Learn and apply the Dawn Methodology as solutions are built and deployed

• Strong programming skills in C/C++ required
• Must possess a BS/MS (CS, ECE, Math) at the time of starting employment
• A GPA of 3.25 or greater is required
• Should feel comfortable with the idea of personally creating a fairly complex 25,000 line application in about a year
• Must be willing and able to work independently and with little supervision
• Should be innovative and passionate about coding
• Should be excited to take on new challenges

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $127,000 - $146,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Applicants with industry experience should email  for applicable job openings.
