Software Engineer
Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, their goal was to create innovative, robotic‑assistant systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges around the world.
We are seeking a Software QA Engineer on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role is on-site in Santa Barbara, CA.
Location Restrictions- Aldaba, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Tennessee
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation activities.
- Set up and configure ISO images in Windows environments.
- Write detailed low-level test cases and execute test plans.
- Perform test executions and document detailed results.
- Provide in-depth feedback to development teams on requirements and specifications.
- Participate in product definition and design phases, ensuring testability and automation readiness.
- Conduct root cause analysis and drive timely resolution of product issues.
- Support product verification and validation efforts.
- Identify opportunities for product and process improvements and provide recommendations.
- Escalate issues to engineering teams as needed.
- Balance hands‑on testing, troubleshooting, and analysis in a fast-paced Agile environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance (SQA).
- Strong understanding of SDLC and QA best practices.
- Knowledge of design control and validation processes.
- Basic scripting/automation experience (e.g., Java, Python, shell, Jenkins).
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems and virtualization.
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, Postman, Selenium, and test management platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
- Experience with networking concepts and software release processes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams.
- Experience with medical design control processes.
- Experience with network disturbance tools.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
