Construction Assistant Project Manager – Santa Clara, CA
A well-established commercial general contractor is offering an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Construction Assistant Project Manager. Work alongside industry professionals supporting innovative projects in clean rooms, advanced manufacturing, and tenant improvements. This position is ideal for early-career construction professionals eager to gain broad project management experience and a clear path to career advancement.
Construction Assistant Project Manager Benefits & Compensation- Competitive salary ($80,000–$105,000), based on experience

- 1–3 years of commercial construction experience
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- Experience with RFIs, submittals, takeoffs, project documentation, or subcontractor coordination
- Familiarity with commercial construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
- Proactive, dependable, and eager to learn
- Strong written, verbal, and professional communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must meet client and project-site eligibility requirements (including U.S. citizenship where required)
- Support Project Managers with coordination and documentation for multiple projects
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and material samples
- Create and update project files, logs, schedules, and cost tracking reports
- Assist with bidding, takeoffs, and review of drawings and scopes
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and field teams
- Manage material and equipment procurement, tracking, and delivery to site
- Attend project meetings, site walks, and inspections as needed
- Prepare closeout documentation, O&M manuals, and turnover packages
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the office team
