Part-Time Mathematics Instructor (Pool)
The Mathematics Department at Mission College is accepting applications for associate faculty who can teach a wide variety of mathematics courses including:
Arithmetic, Pre-Algebra, Elementary Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus Algebra, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Calculus 3, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Calculus for Business and Social Science, Finite Mathematics, Statistics, Discrete Mathematics, Math for Liberal Arts Majors.
This position is a part-time position as an Associate Instructor. The teaching assignment may require teaching lecture-discussion courses during day, evening or on Saturday and/or in an on-line/distance education format. The assignments are as needed, during Spring, Summer, and/or Fall semesters. This position is represented by the West Valley-Mission Federation of Teachers (WVMFT), AFT

Salary is based on a percentage of workload, up to a maximum of 67% of a full-time load. Salary is prorated based on an initial hiring salary range of $36,191 – $52,297 per semester; and is based on academic achievement, teaching and related experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education – Possess one of the following:
Master's degree in mathematics or applied mathematics; OR Bachelor's degree in either of the above AND master's degree in statistics, physics, or mathematics education; OR A valid California Community College Instructor's Credential in Mathematics; OR The equivalent of the above. AND Demonstrated ability to effectively teach, counsel or work with persons of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds.

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the following desired qualification(s):
Successful classroom teaching experience. Demonstrated desire and ability to teach pre-algebra and algebra courses. Awareness of the varied needs of community college students with diverse mathematical and ethnic backgrounds.
