Qualifications
  • BA/BS or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Youth/Adolescent Development or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with children ages 4-12 years old in an after school enrichment program.
  • CPR and First Aid Certified.
  • Working knowledge or the ability to learn District adopted software:
    Google suite software, Google Classroom, Google Hangout and/or Zoom, etc.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be in good health, able to lift 30 lbs. chest high, and pass a physical exam.
  • Must be able to walk, squat, bend and stand; ability to move freely to supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities with children.
Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum directly connected to the needs and interests of the children.
  • Ability to write and support Associate Teachers and Teacher Aides in curriculum development using project-based learning, STEAM/STEM education and related developmentally appropriate curriculum models.
  • Ability to lead and mentor Associate Teachers and Teacher Aides in the development of classroom plans and goals.
  • Keep children safe and healthy through proper supervision, authentic interaction and practicing good health habits.
  • Create exciting and enriched environments connected to curriculum and quality learning experiences.
  • Communicate regularly with parents to support, guide, and share in their child’s development.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff by practicing workplace values, flexibility, and being a team player.
  • Provide excellent customer service for families, school, community and each other.
Comments and Other Information
  • Programs are open year-round. Some 10-month positions may be available.
  • Hours, schedules, and locations are subject to change when school is not in session based on the needs of the program.
  • Benefits include: paid Sick Leave and Holiday pay.
