Yubico is looking for a Quality Control Engineering Technician to participate in all aspects of product and process quality of Yubico’s extensive Production Hardware. This role will be responsible for the end-to-end quality of hardware, working with everything from individual PCBs, PCAs, sub-assemblies to full systems. Daily work will involve running hardware tests and stress testing various components. There is opportunity to design, build and incorporate new fixtures/tools to facilitate the testing coverage and efficiency.
Tasks& Responsibilities
- Quality Process Development:
Design and create test plans, processes, maintain and create new test cases for hardware products using Python. - Product Validation:
Execute functional, dimensional, and environmental testing to ensure products meet all technical specifications. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with design, manufacturing, and support teams to provide critical feedback on product builds. - Technical Documentation:
Author and maintain comprehensive records for hardware design, testing procedures, and quality control. - Risk Management:
Lead quality-focused design reviews and proactive risk assessments to catch issues early in the lifecycle. - Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all hardware meets industry standards and regulatory requirements. - Performance Monitoring:
Track quality metrics and identify trends to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing and design.
- Degree: AA or BS in Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline.
- Background: 1–3 years in hardware quality control or manufacturing, specifically within the consumer electronics sector.
- Equipment:
Hands‑on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and calipers. - Protocols & Schematics:
Proficient in reading hardware schematics and mechanical drawings; familiar with SPI, I2C, and USB protocols. - Design Standards:
Solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). - Automation:
Experience using Python for test automation.

Salary Pay Range: $90,000 USD - $110,000 USD
