** JOB SUMMARY
** EOTECH is seeking a skilled Mechatronics Engineer to join our Edge Vision Systems (EVS) team. The primary focus of this role is troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining existing semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The engineer will assess equipment performance, identify necessary replacements or upgrades, support capacity analysis and potential equipment expansion efforts, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the position involves evaluating opportunities for automation to enhance efficiency and reliability, supporting Equipment and Manufacturing Engineering functions to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.

This individual contributor position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
** ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
** In this role, you will:
* Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on semiconductor manufacturing equipment; troubleshoot electronic and electrical problems down to the component level.
* Diagnose equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
* Provide technical training and support to operators and maintenance personnel.
* Support capacity analysis and evaluate potential equipment expansion efforts to meet production demands.
* Support Manufacturing Engineering activities, including supporting equipment improvements and process optimization.
* Assess opportunities for automation of equipment and processes to increase efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve consistency.
* Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to support equipment performance and upgrades.
* Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment history.
* Assist in testing and calibrating equipment to ensure it operates within specifications.
* Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for equipment and tools maintenance.
* Document all troubleshooting procedures, maintenance activities, and equipment modifications accurately and in accordance with industry standards.
* Own and maintain internal database for scheduled maintenance.
* Monitor equipment performance metrics and initiate continuous improvement initiatives.
* Document and assess site-wide equipment risk posture and make recommendations on appropriate upgrade/replacement roadmap.
* Design tooling, fixtures, and hardware using common mechanical design software/applications (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD).
* Correspond with equipment vendors to manage the repair or installation of production equipment.
* Create and read electrical schematics.
* Design and fabricate electrical boxes and wiring for internal equipment.
* Stay current with advancements in equipment technology and maintenance practices within the semiconductor industry.
** WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
*** This is an on-site position in Santa Clara, CA. Remote work is not possible for this role.
* 9-80 work schedule, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required, as assigned.
* With or without reasonable accommodation, requires the physical and mental capacity to perform all essential functions effectively, in addition to other demands.
* Extended periods of working at a computer at a desk, as needed.
* Able to visit local or long-distance manufacturers and suppliers, up to approximately 10% of the time.
* Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.## Qualifications
** MINUMIM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
*** Proven experience in troubleshooting and maintaining semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
* Strong documentation skills with experience in creating detailed reports, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
* Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
* Ability to analyze complex technical problems and implement effective solutions.
* Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, cleanroom protocols, and safety standards.
* Strong troubleshooting skills in new and legacy equipment.
* Ability to research and identify suitable alternate or replacement components or parts for legacy equipment.
* Proficient with RF systems and power.
* Clear understanding of vacuum pumps and systems.
* Able to create and read electrical schematics.
* Able to design and fabricate electrical boxes and wiring for internal equipment.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Proactive and very detail oriented, with strong organizational skills.
* Strong work ethic and ability to multitask.
* Ability to work successfully under minimal supervision.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office, including email, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
** EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
*** Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
** PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
*** Experience with SIMCO’s CERDAAC calibration system is desired.
