Entry Level Metrology Hardware Engineering Technician – 18‑Month Contract to Hire

Location: Santa Clara, California

Pay Rate: $26 to $31 per hour

Shift: 8‑hour swing, Tuesday – Saturday (1 PM – 10 PM)

• Troubleshoot and repair metrology equipment hardware and software issues
• Perform complex electro‑mechanical technical functions such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting, and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems; experimental design circuitry, prototype models, specialized test equipment, tools and test fixtures
• Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and sub‑systems with minimal supervision, applying technical knowledge to solve difficult problems
• Compile logbooks and test‑procedure documentation using good writing skills; assist in revising, developing, and implementing documented procedures; write complex technical reports and test procedures
• Observe all safety standards, maintain a secure and healthy work environment, attend required safety training, and report accidents, injuries, or hazards promptly; use protective equipment and follow safety protocols to prevent incidents
• Understand the company's manufacturing and engineering processes; effectively interface across departmental and functional lines; provide technical input to management to correct system‑level and manufacturing problems
• Provide training to lower‑level engineering technicians; act as a technical resource on a platform or product; proficient at troubleshooting and resolving issues; train on standard work and workmanship skills
• Work closely with engineering on procedures and documentation for new product introduction (NPI); may serve as a Quality Lead

• Primary support for metrology and analytical tools and equipment
• Troubleshoot process equipment hardware
• FIB/TEM/SEM equipment knowledge helpful
• Semiconductor capital equipment knowledge helpful

• Good understanding of how related teams coordinate efforts and resources to achieve objectives
• May lead the team, allocate work, and provide subject‑matter guidance to junior members
• Exercise judgment based on experience, practices, and precedents to solve problems with little or no precedent
• Impact the effectiveness of own team and related teams
• Exchange ideas and information effectively; use tact and diplomacy when interacting with others
• Associate's Degree (Optional)
• 0–2 Years of experience (Preferred)
