• General hardware assembly, firmware/OS flashing, and deployment of systems to test benches or racks.
• Troubleshoots general system boot or connectivity issues
• Works with Custom CPU engineers across a wide range of areas and understands how to execute tests and collect data efficiently.
• May perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assignments are semi routine in nature.
• Work performed within generally defined parameters. Some degree of judgment required in resolving nonstandard problems.
• Normally receives general instructions on most work.
• Requires good verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question.
• Assist with shipping/receiving and entering new hardware into inventory systems
• Deductive and inductive problem solving is required; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; attention to detail is a must.

High School Diploma, or equivalent, and 2+ years of Engineer Technician or related work experience (Work Experience should in a background that required troubleshooting, problem solving in an electrical engineering tech role)
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Independently sets up and maintains benches, testers, and other equipment. Transports, installs, upgrades, and configures complex equipment and components.
• Collaborates with individuals inside and outside of own function to troubleshoot and perform moderately complex repair work, rework, removal, and modifications to equipment as necessary.
• Sets up test equipment using hand tools or automatic test methods to perform complex tests of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.
• Guides others and documents test results, KPIs, and other outcomes, and maintains malfunction records.
• Executes manual and automated test plans and provides input on test cases and test procedures. Reproduces and debugs complex issues. Documents changes to processes or SOP.
• Tracks the purchasing, shipping/transporting, receiving and usage of inventory and equipment for test labs, field engineering, and business unit projects.
Level of Responsibility:
• Works under supervision.
• Decision-making affects direct area of work and/or work group.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information.
• Tasks consist of a limited number of steps and can be referenced using directions or manuals.
