Algorithm Developer - Image Processing​/Machine Learning IV

Overview

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced image processing algorithm developer to join our team in Santa Clara, CA. The role involves working with process engineers and algorithm developers to design, develop, and deploy custom image processing algorithms for accelerating semiconductor process development.

• Develop and implement image processing and machine learning algorithms
• Collaborate closely with application engineers to generate optimal images
• Demonstrate and communicate algorithm performance to internal and external users
• Cooperate with internal and external groups to generate data, validate results, and deploy algorithms

• Fluent in Python
• Proven record of image processing, machine learning, and computer vision algorithm development
• 3+ years hands‑on algorithm development experience
• Experience with OpenCV, PyTorch/Tensor Flow
• Experience optimizing computational efficiency preferred
• Experience with electron beam image processing preferred
• Experience with semiconductor metrology and inspection preferred

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related fields

• Clear and effective communication
• Willingness to work with groups in different time zones
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple simultaneous projects
