The role is a Printed Circuits Board Assembly (PCBA) Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for providing expert guidance and support to engineering teams and contract manufacturers.
Responsibilities- Lead research, development and implementation of Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) Technology Development and complex Design of Experiments (DOE) at Contract Manufacturers (CM) located across Asia.
- Lead research and development of new PCBA technologies, interconnect technologies, and materials required for new products, product performance improvements, and cost reductions, ahead of engineering demand.
- Own the development of PCBA technology and material roadmaps based on engineering requirements and next-generation product needs.
- Lead engagement with the PCBA CM base to ensure capability and readiness to meet roadmap requirements and qualify CMs for new technologies and materials.
- Work with CMs to define, procure and implement equipment to support new technology requirements.
- Experience with Manufacturing Operations, New Product Introductions (NPI), Design for Manufacturability and Reliability (DFx) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Ability to speak fluent Mandarin, Cantonese and Vietnamese preferred.
- Domestic and international travel up to 40% in Asia is required.
- BS or MS in Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience, with 15+ years of experience in PCBA and materials.
- OEM system-level PCBA experience is highly desirable.
- Extensive expertise across PCBA technologies with a strong background in R&D materials and assembly processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with hardware engineering teams, and to build strong, trusted cross‑functional relationships.
- Self‑starter who can operate with minimal supervision.
- High level of motivation and creative problem‑solving skills.
Base salary range: $196,000 - $310,500 USD, plus equity and benefits. Competitive salaries and generous benefits package available.
