Job Title: Analog Design Engineer - Smart Power

Position Type: Full Time

Location: Santa Clara, CA | 5 days onsite required

Salary Range / Rate: Base $180k - $250k + Annual Bonus + Retention Bonus/Stock Options

Responsibilities

Analog designer for high-performance computing power management ICs, including DC-DC converters, multiphase regulators, and digitally controlled smart power stages.

  • Architect and design power delivery ICs optimized for CPU, GPU, and ASIC platforms with high current density and fast transient performance.
  • Provide technical leadership for SPS (Smart Power Stage) chip design — from concept through silicon validation.
  • Drive innovation in analog power circuit design, including current sensing, gate drivers, protection circuits, and high current powertrain.
  • Perform circuit-level simulations (Spectre, HSPICE, etc.) and silicon characterization to ensure designs meet electrical and thermal performance targets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, layout, verification, and test teams to ensure robust and manufacturable silicon.
  • Explore and adopt emerging technologies, including GaN/BCD processes, advanced packaging, and new topologies to enhance efficiency and power density.
Qualifications
  • Education: MSEE or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years in power management IC design, including 3+ years’ design experience in high current DC-DCs, DrMOS/SPS, high-precision high-speed current sensing ICs.
  • Proven expertise in high-performance computing power delivery IC design such as:
  • High-current, low-voltage regulators for CPUs, GPUs, and AI accelerators.
  • Integration of analog, digital and power circuits in BCD/GaN processes.
  • Design/Layout integrated switching converters with low Ron and high efficiency.
  • High current powertrain design/floorplan/layout and package development for Ron, efficiency and robustness optimization.
  • High-precision fast-speed current sensing for SPS (Smart Power Stage).
  • A hands‑on problem solver and good communicator.
