Robotics and Controls Engineer - Strategic Robotics

Responsibilities

• Work on a focused multi‑functional team developing robotic solutions for next‑generation medical robotic systems.
• Develop novel human‑robot interaction methods using feedback from clinical engineers and physicians.
• Collaborate with instrument and capital hardware engineers to implement and test algorithms controlling novel medical devices.
• Design and implement software in a real‑time, safety‑critical environment.
• Develop test protocols to evaluate algorithms and hardware/software performance.
• Build and test concept proofs and prototypes on systems.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, procedure development, and clinical procedures.

• Bachelor’s degree + 2 years robotics‑related experience (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.); MS highly preferred.
• Proficiency with C/C++ and computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, OOP in UNIX).
• Fundamental experience with robotic dynamics and kinematics.
• Highly beneficial:
  Detection/Estimation, UI/UX, Haptics, Soft Robotics, or Nonlinear Control.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to travel up to 5% (domestic and international).
