Job Description & How to Apply Below

NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. It’s a unique legacy of innovation that’s fueled by great technology—and amazing people. Today, we’re tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing. An era in which our GPU acts as the brains of computers, robots, and self‑driving cars that can understand the world.

Doing what’s never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world’s best talent. As an NVIDIAN, you’ll be immersed in a diverse, supportive environment where everyone is inspired to do their best work. Come join the team and see how you can make a lasting impact on the world.

We are looking for a proactive Chemistry Lab Technician to join our newly established Wet Chemical Lab and Workshop. This role is centered on metallurgical materials science and involves the execution of critical experiments, data analysis, and laboratory maintenance. You will have the opportunity to help drive the innovation of our future technologies that will be used by engineers to develop our next generation datacenter products.

The ideal candidate has a strong chemistry or materials science foundation with a particular emphasis on designing and implementing laboratory experiments. We seek a candidate with the proven skills and know‑how to thrive in a fast‑paced and highly innovative engineering workplace. This role will involve diverse subject matter and a constant eager learner will excel here. We seek a strong communicator who is adept at collecting relevant data from a wide variety of sources, formatting that data in a concise and accurate way, and then communicating your findings on a regular basis to keep team members informed and involved.

What

you will be doing:
  • Corrosion & Erosion Testing:
Performing erosion‑corrosion experiments for various metals and alloys in propylene glycol (PG) based coolant environments, simulating high‑flow datacenter conditions at elevated temperatures.
  • Material Compatibility:
Carry out long‑term compatibility studies of elastomers, seals, and polymers with PG coolants to predict degradation and service life.
  • Failure Analysis & Metallography:
Perform precision cross‑sectioning, mounting, and polishing of metallurgical samples. Analyse samples for erosion, corrosion pitting, and manufacturing defects using optical and electron microscopy.
  • Heterogeneous Integration:
Investigate and optimise bonding processes between metals, ceramics, and plastics to ensure high mechanical reliability and thermal performance under thermal cycling.
  • Lab Operations:
Maintain wet chemistry lab standards, prepare complex and potentially corrosive chemical solutions, and manage characterisation equipment calibration and safety.
What we need to see:
  • B.S. or equivalent experience in Materials Science, Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant industry experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Very strong wet chemistry laboratory skills (titration, pH control, solution preparation, etc.)
  • Practical experience operating analytical instruments (FTIR, GC‑MS, XPS, optical microscopy, SEM/EDS, tensile/compression testing, or similar).
  • High adaptability; ability to switch between chemistry, physics, and engineering tasks daily.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent documentation and data reporting skills.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
  • Practical experience in high‑vacuum physical vapor deposition techniques including sputter deposition and e‑beam evaporation.
  • First‑principles understanding of analytical instrumentation.
  • Direct experience performing ASTM test methods.
  • Hands‑on experience with potentiostat‑based accelerated corrosion testing including apparatus set‑up.
