Engineering Technician (Temporary Contract Staff Augmentation Role)
Ampere is a semiconductor design company focused on high‑performance, energy efficient AI compute and is part of the Soft Bank Group. The role is a temporary staff augmentation Engineering Technician for an expected 3‑month period with the possibility of extension.
Scope of WorkAmpere’s Production team supports the manufacture and testing of Ampere’s products. In this role you’ll help develop and implement controls and test processes that transform lab prototypes into repeatable, production‑ready operations with consistent, predictable output.
- Read and interpret schematics and PCB/layout documentation, including test set‑ups and work instructions.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electronic components, assemblies, and systems.
- Support and maintain test and manufacturing equipment, including instrumentation and computer‑based test systems.
- Assemble experimental circuitry and build prototype models in accordance with engineering instructions, technical manuals, and electronic systems knowledge.
- Perform routine and non‑routine checks to ensure systems meet required specifications and documentation standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to document results, assist with process improvements, and resolve production issues.
- Associate’s degree (or equivalent experience) with some college coursework in a related field, and/or Electronics or engineering certification.
- Minimum 4 years related experience.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of digital electronics and experience with basic debugging/troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and cable drawings.
- Comfortable working independently and in a team environment.
- Strong manual dexterity and comfort performing detailed mechanical/electrical tasks.
- Clear and professional communication skills (written and verbal).
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and a bias toward action.
- Ability to learn new techniques quickly, manage multiple tasks, follow procedures, and comply with company policies and safety standards.
You will work as an employee of a staffing vendor firm who provides staff augmentation and payroll services for Ampere Computing. The staffing firm offers weekly pay based on approved time‑card submission, medical benefits, and other employment benefits as eligible. The hourly pay range for this role is $35.34–$53.13. This role is full‑time onsite.
