Swing Shift: Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Salary Range: $125,000 - $135,000 annually, plus eligibility for bonus and equity incentives.

Role Summary

The Manager
- Data Center Operations must possess expert-level knowledge and is responsible for the operational integrity and regulatory compliance of data center electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, and communications infrastructure.

Mechanical responsibilities include chilled water systems, HVAC equipment, CRAC/CRAH units, and humidification systems. Electrical responsibilities include critical power distribution from utility and generator switch gear through UPS systems to customer loads. Fire Life Safety responsibilities include wet and pre-action sprinkler systems and associated detection devices. Communications infrastructure responsibilities include IDF/MDF/MMR management, structured cabling, supporting infrastructure ownership, and customer space management.

This role is responsible for vendor management, project management from conception through completion, commissioning activities, MOP development, operational efficiency initiatives, compliance requirements, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and team leadership.

The Manager
- Data Center Operations serves as a people manager and shift manager, responsible for training, coaching, and developing operations staff while ensuring facility uptime and operational excellence.

Duties
  • Serve as the data center subject matter expert for electrical, mechanical, and fire life safety systems.
  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facility systems.
  • Track and trend site efficiencies and energy consumption.
  • Drive operational efficiency, identify improvement opportunities, and support cost reduction initiatives.
  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, procurement processes, and project execution.
  • Develop and review technical procedures, maintenance plans, emergency response procedures, and MOPs.
  • Manage commissioning activities and site audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting for Cap Ex and OpEx expenditures.
  • Manage mechanical loading capacity and cooling system performance.
  • Utilize CMMS systems and ensure SLA requirements are met.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support.
  • Participate in on-call support as required.
  • Train, mentor, coach, and evaluate operations staff.
  • Promote Core Site's Principles of Operational Excellence and Guiding Principles.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge
  • Expert understanding of electrical and mechanical systems used in critical facilities, including switch gear, generators, UPS systems, transformers, ATS/STS equipment, PDUs, chilled water systems, HVAC equipment, CRAC/CRAH units, fire suppression systems, and controls.
  • Expert knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, OSHA regulations, and building codes.
  • Strong understanding of fiber optics, structured cabling infrastructure, and industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of commissioning processes, data analysis, monitoring systems, and energy efficiency practices.
Skills
  • 5-7+ years of experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting large commercial or industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience with chilled water systems, HVAC equipment, generators, fuel systems, electrical distribution systems, UPS systems, controls, and fire protection systems.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience.
  • Strong vendor, contract, and project management skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
