Overview
As a Systems Engineer, you’ll design, integrate, and optimize complex systems that drive the semiconductor industry forward. Your expertise in systems thinking and problem‑solving is essential as you collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop advanced solutions for intricate processes and write system specifications. You’ll be responsible for analyzing requirements, defining system architectures, conducting thorough testing, and ensuring seamless integration of subsystems.
Additionally, you’ll identify and mitigate risks, ensuring that our systems meet the highest quality standards and exceed customer expectations.
- Lead and execute systems engineering projects with a mix of sensor, algorithm, and control system modules for plasma etch systems – from concept to production deployment
- Develop and optimize algorithms for automation and advanced control of complex etch subsystems:
Radio Frequency (RF) Power, Pulsed Voltage (PVT), Flow, and Temperature - Identify and address gaps in sensor technologies necessary to diagnose equipment performance in the production environment
- Build and qualify prototypes of new designs, or procure entire subsystems from outsourced suppliers and test for compliance with detailed specifications
- Design and implement solutions that combine classical mathematical algorithms with deep learning approaches to solve productivity challenges
- Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders including Field, Marketing, Product, Applications, Software, and Systems teams to gather requirements and integrate sensor and control system solutions
- PhD (or Masters with experience) in Engineering or Physics
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: RF/DC plasma systems; plasma sensing; algorithm development
- 3–5 years of experience in the semiconductor equipment industry
- Data analysis skills using MATLAB, Python, or similar
- Experience in a multidisciplinary R&D environment (SW/HW/Algo)
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to influence a range of stakeholders
