Senior Staff Engineer

About the Role

EdgeQ Inc, a leading, well-funded semiconductor startup in the 5G+AI space, is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer responsible for micro-architecture, design & RTL development of the 5G modem subsystem & SoC.

This is a full-time, permanent position.

Role Summary and Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

* Responsible for micro-architecture, design and RTL development of the 5G modem subsystem and SoC.

* Analyze performance/power/area of different micro-arch options and select right design for product use-case.

* Support verification and coverage analysis of the design at block, sub-system and SoC levels.

* Support integration of the block at sub-system and SoC levels.

* Integrate complex RISCV processors with custom instruction for hardware accelerators such as vector/Matrix processing.

* Measure performance and power of the design in simulation and ensure it meets specification.

* Create emulation and post-silicon test cases to validate the design in these environments.

* Support time closure (STA) and synthesis of high-speed digital design.

* Gate level simulation and implement ECOs.

* Troubleshoot issues with 5G base station setup across multiple layers (L1/L2/RF) issues.

* Debug RF issues and integrate multiple RFICs with EdgeQ baseband SoC.

* Work with customers on lab bring-up of EdgeQ platforms.

* Provide end-to-end customer support to achieve final product readiness with the EdgeQ 5G SoC.

* Provide support to customer demos.

Job Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related technical field and 9 years of experience working in the semiconductor industry.

* We will also accept a Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related technical field and 7 years of experience working in the semiconductor industry.

* 5 years of experience in digital design including RTL coding using Verilog and System Verilog.

* 7 years of experience in Micro architecture of complex wireless digital signal processing systems and SoC subsystems.

* 5 years of experience designing Hardware accelerators used in AI and ML SoC including Vector and Matrix processing.

* 5 years of experience designing low power and highspeed SoC with power and clock gating.

* 7 years of experience in support verification and coverage analysis of design at block and SoC level.

* 2 years of experience creating emulation and post silicon test cases to validate design.

* 6 years of experience troubleshooting 5G base station issues on Layer 1, Layer 2, Layer 3 and RF.

* 3 years of experience in SoC Bring up.

* 4 years of experience working with multiple RF partners for end to end 5G system bring up.

* 5 years of experience supporting backend team for silicon tapeout.

* 5 years of experience in synthesis and timing closure at subsystem level.

* 7 years of experience measuring performance and power of design in simulation and ensuring it meets specifications.

* Experience supporting integration of the block at sub system and SoC levels.

* Experience supporting customers across globe to get product using Baseband SoC.

* Experience leading and mentoring a dynamic engineering team.

* Experience in RF integration with baseband SoC and characterization.

* Experience leading and mentoring a customer engineering team.

Rate of Pay:

* $ to $225,000 per year
