Position: Signal Integrity Engineer
Location: Santa Clara, CA

Responsibilities- Assist with providing solutions to customers across a wide range of sectors with their high‑speed data transmission requirements.
- Identify and resolve signal integrity issues in PCB layout, and direct layout for customers.
- Design, simulate, characterize, and apply high‑speed electrical connectors and cable‑based interconnect.
- Support internal Sales Engineers in developing strategies for product break‑in at existing and new accounts based on signal integrity and electrical engineering expertise.
- Apply circuit theory and high‑speed digital transmission PCB layout principles for high‑speed digital design.
- Collaborate on a multidisciplinary team in the development of next‑generation high‑speed backplane interconnect products.
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
- Hands‑on experience with frequency‑domain and time‑domain component and circuit characterization, including understanding of test and calibration methods.
- Experience with signal integrity measurements and debugging using TDR, VNA, pattern generators, error detectors, and similar equipment.
- Understanding of electro‑magnetic principles.
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
- 2+ years of industry experience.
- Experience in component design and application of high‑speed interconnects into communications systems.
- Experience with signal integrity and simulation/analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS and Designer, CST Microwave, HSPICE, MATLAB, and ADS.
The base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $150,000. In determining rate of pay, Amphenol considers a variety of nondiscriminatory factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant industry experience, qualifications, skills, and education.
