Salary & Location

$33.00 - $45.70 per hour. Santa Clara, CA.

Responsibilities
  • Perform complex electro‑mechanical technical functions and activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models, specialized test equipment, tools and test fixtures.
  • Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and sub‑systems with minimal supervision.
  • Solve difficult problems by applying technical knowledge.
  • Perform new system and NPI installations and field upgrades.
  • Work from limited or no documentation.
  • Investigate, compile data, document and recommend changes using the applicable reporting process to enhance product performance.
  • Compile logbooks and test‑procedure documentation utilizing good writing skills.
  • Assist in revising, developing and implementing documented procedures.
  • Write complex technical reports and test procedures.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum and process testing on AMAT platforms for Engineering and Manufacturing documentation and specifications.
  • Observe all safety standards and maintain a secure, safe, clean and healthy work environment.
  • Attend required health and safety training and follow safety and security policies, procedures and practices.
  • Promptly report accidents, injuries, safety hazards or emergencies to the supervisor or Safety department.
  • Follow operating instructions, use protective equipment when required and use equipment and materials properly.
  • Actively strive to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Require full understanding of the company’s manufacturing and/or engineering processes and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interface across departmental/functional lines.
  • Provide management with technical input to correct problems at the system level and in the manufacturing process.
  • Provide training to lower‑level Engineering Technicians.
  • Be recognized as a technical resource for a particular platform or product.
  • Be highly proficient at troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Be effective at providing standard work and workmanship skills training.
  • Work closely with Engineering in the development of procedures and documentation for NPI.
  • May serve as a "Quality Lead".
Other Requirements

This is a physically demanding position that may require standing for extended periods, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, distinguishing between colors, working in noisy environments, using hand and power tools, and operating heavy machinery such as forklifts. The position may also involve working in a clean room, requiring appropriate personal protective equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons and face shields.
